Thanks to Georgia’s competitive tax incentives the motion picture business is experiencing a gold rush of productions during the last few months of this year. As of mid-September 2008, producers from six different projects were scrambling to secure department heads and local technicians to work on the following projects:
- Drop Dead Diva – Sony Television for the Lifetime network
- The Preacher’s Kid – Warner Brothers low-budget feature
- The Joneses – stars Demi Moore and David Duchovny
- Your Presence Requested – Disney
- Road Trip II – no details yet
- Van Wilder III – no details yet
Note that this list does not include projects currently in production by Tyler Perry.
This volume of work obviously bodes well for the near term of the state’s motion picture industry, and the rumors of more projects gives hope to the 2009 film season!
