Ain’t social media grand? While everyone involved with Vampire Diaries has been confident that the Georgia-lensed hit show would be renewed it was still great to see Co-Executive Producer & Director Marcos Siega send out a tweet to his thousands of followers stating “Thanks to all our fans. Officially picked up for season two!” Who needs news sites when you can follow people on your favorite shows on your own?!! If you’d like to follow Marcos, head on over to his feed on Twitter!!
Congratulations to the Writers, Producers, Cast & Crew of the Georgia-produced television series “The Vampire Diaries” after their win for “Favorite New TV Drama” at tonight’s 36th Annual People Choice Awards, held at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, California. It’s well known in Atlanta’s motion picture community that the cast and crew of Vampire Diaries work long, late hours due to the show’s “vampire” theme and while this award won’t change their shooting schedule it is an encouraging sign that the show has legs for a second season. The other shows nominated for Favorite New TV Drama were FlashForward (ABC), The Good Wife (CBS), NCIS: Los Angeles (CBS), and V (ABC).
Be sure to grab the November 2009 issue of Atlanta’s luxury living magazine “Jezebel” for an interview with “Vampire Diaries” star Kayla Ewell, who talks about life as a vampire, living in Atlanta, and answers questions about the widely-publicized “flashing” incident from earlier in the year.
