Iowa’s Film Scandal to Help Georgia?

The Wall Street Journal brings us the cautionary tale of a tax-incentive program run amok in Iowa, the state to which the production “The Crazies” went after finishing in Georgia. While investigators untangle the abuse and misuse in the Iowa tax-incentive scandal (a producer buying a Range Rover, a director buying a Mercedes, and millions of dollars being written off by productions for product placement), that state’s tax incentive program is on hold and productions are said to be departing the state in droves, many heading for neighboring Michigan and always-busy Louisiana. Will any of those productions come to Georgia? We certainly hope so!
